Membership
There are many benefits to becoming a member of the Torrey Botanical Society. In addition to the benefits of journal access and field trip and lecture notifications detailed below, Torrey members enjoy discounts at some events and courses. For example, TBS members can receive a 10% discount on any course they register for at the Humboldt Field Research Institute.
You can become a member of the Torrey Botanical Society online or by mailing in a membership form downloaded from this website or obtained from a copy of the journal.
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP
Annual Dues: Regular print and online journal: $50.00; Regular online journal only: $40.00
Regular members receive access to the Journal of the Torrey Botanical Society, notices of meetings and field trips, and can publish in the Journal. Online Journal access from 2008 to present is through the Journal Access page on the Torrey website and from 1870 to 2008 is through JSTOR direct access.
STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
Annual Dues: Student print and online journal: $30.00; Student online journal only: $20.00
Student members have the same privileges as Regular Members, but pay a reduced fee. Note: You must provide proof of active student status. Signature of major professor or faculty advisor is required each year. (If sending application electronically, have major professor or faculty advisor email a one line confirmation of student/postdoc status to torrey@allenpress.com).
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Annual Dues: $15.00
Associate members receive notices of meetings and field trips but do not have Journal access.
LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Life members have the same privileges as Regular Members, but pay a one-time fee of $750.00
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP
Annual Dues: Family print and online journal: $55.00; Family online journal only: $45.00
Family membership members have the same privileges as Regular Members, except that they share one copy of the Journal and all mailings from the society.
