The Journal of the Torrey Botanical Society, known until 1997 as the Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club, is the oldest botanical journal in the Americas. The Journal’s main goal is the dissemination of scientific knowledge about plants and fungi. It publishes basic research in all areas of plant biology, except horticulture, with an emphasis on research done in, and on the plants of, the Western Hemisphere.

Authors may choose to publish their articles as open access in The Journal of the Torrey Botanical Society. This option enables the author to freely share the article for any non-commercial purpose including posting the article on websites, etc. The charge for open access is $25 per published page. Note that we do not have any other page charges unless you are submitting multiple color images. Printing as open access is available to a limited number of articles in each issue, so please inquire with the Editor in Chief if you are interested in this option.
